If you have visited us lately, you may have seen our range of locally made products for sale. We started out by selling our own River Valley merchandise as souvenirs, but over time we have started selling some delicious treats from the River Valley Kitchen, as well as selling on behalf of some small local businesses like Puketotara Bees and Tweeddale’s Honey.

As a business we believe it’s important to support the local community, as well as to be as ethical and sustainable as we can. We sell products that we have hand picked, or made ourselves, that align with our company values.

These products make great gifts, we can even put together a custom gift box for you.

If you would like to order any. of our products please email us with your order details. We can arrange delivery within NZ (postage price to be confirmed when you place your order, depending on the delivery address), deliver locally, or drop products off in Taihape. We will email you to confirm your order, with the total price including delivery and our payment details.

Treats from the River Valley Kitchen

If you have had a meal from the River Valley Kitchen, chances are you may have tried some of our delicious home made relishes or sauces. Our meals are augmented with relishes, dressings, sauces and chutneys, produced from fresh ingredients sourced from River Valley Acres and hand crafted by our chef Miranda. People often asked us for the recipes, or for some to take home – so now you can!

Locally Made Gifts

We love to shop local and support small NZ businesses as much as possible. We support our neighbours, friends and businesses from the wider community, by selling their locally made products at the lodge. Most of these items are hand made, and make unique gifts. Bug Balm

Locally made by Kath Harrison, this completely natural bug balm is made with a mix of essential oils, calendula, olive oil and beeswax. It keeps the bugs away, soothes bites, and best of all smells great!

Blend #107 Revolutions

Full bodied, arabica, three quarter roasted ground coffee, with beans sourced from Kenya, Brazil, Guatemala and Columbia. Batch roasted and freshly blended by Redline Coffee in Palmerston North. The same delicious coffee that we serve in the lodge.

Natural, Handmade Soaps

We often get asked where the soaps in the rooms come from, and complimented on how great they smell. They are lovingly handcrafted in Marlborough by Jeymar, using natural ingredients. We usually have a range in stock, including May Chang, Lavender, Manuka Oil & Honey, Rose & Geranium and Patchouli & Poppyseed.

Tweeddale’s NZ Honey

Prices from $9-$40.

Bush Blend, Clover Blend, or Multifloral Manuka honey. Tweeddale’s is a family run business based in Taihape, with over 24,000 beehives throughout Central North Island of New Zealand. We have 250g or 500g pots available.

Tui Street Fudge
